L’old school death metal band Gruesome fa ora parte del roster Relapse Records. E’ la stessa etichetta ad annunciarlo, sottolineando come il gruppo si ispiri al death metal floridiano di fine anni ’80/inizio ’90. Due brani del demo sono disponibili tramite Bandcamp, mentre la formazione è la seguente:
Daniel Gonzalez (Possessed) – chitarra
Matt Harvey (Exhumed, Dekapitator) – chitarra, voce
Robin Mazen (Derketa) – basso
Gus Rios (ex-Malevolent Creation) – batteria
Il disco d’esordio dovrebbe uscire nei primi mesi del 2015, queste le parole del frontman Matt Harvey:
“We’re very psyched to be joining the Relapse roster. Their support in our mission to keep the early Death sound alive means a lot, especially since they’re the home of the Death catalog. We’ll be entering the studio in (where else?) Florida very soon to wrap up a record by the end of summer for an early 2015 release. We can’t wait for all of you mutants out there to check it out. We assure you it’ll be utterly gruesome (see what I did there?). Cheers!”
