I Giraffe Tongue Orchestra, supergruppo nato dalla collaborazione fra Brent Hinds (Mastodon), Ben Weinman (The Dillinger Escape Plan) e William DuVall (Alice In Chains), rilasceranno il proprio album di debutto Broken Lines il 23 settembre per Party Smasher Inc./Cooking Vinyl. “Crucifixion“, il primo brano estratto, è stato presentato in anteprima al Rock Show di BBC Radio 1 la scorsa settimana, ed è ascoltabile qui.
L’esordio live della band è previsto per il 27 agosto, data in cui si esibirà al Reading Festival (UK) insieme a, tra gli altri, Mastodon e The Dillinger Escape Plan. La line-up sarà completata da Thomas Pridgen (The Mars Volta) alla batteria e Pete Griffin (Dethklok) al basso.
Così ha commentato il progetto il chitarrista Ben Weinman:
“This band is the hardest thing I’ve ever had to achieve in my life. Many times I considered giving up on it because it just seemed like it wasn’t meant to be. From the very start it was something that was supposed to be fun and casual. In essence, if it didn’t work out, it would have been fine. For some reason, Brent and I just kept wanting to find the right chemistry to make this happen. In the end, it was one of those things where you get people in the room and it makes sense – it just works.”
