I post-metallers tedeschi Red Apollo hanno annunciato il proprio scioglimento tramite un comunicato sulla propria pagina Facebook. La band, il cui ultimo album The Laurels Of Serenity (qui la nostra recensione) è stato pubblicato ad aprile 2018, suonerà cinque show d’addio, di cui tre ancora da annunciare. Di seguito il comunicato:
ENG:
“Hey everyone!
Some of you might have already noticed that it’s been rather quiet around us during the last months. Playing around 150 shows and constantly releasing music throughout the last 7 years has been incredibly fulfulling and fun for all of us. Though it can’t be denied that such a band comes also with a lot of stress and sacrifices which we were nevertheless always happy to make.
However after the release of The Laurels of Serenity and the following live shows, we realized that we all felt really worn out by the whole process. Keeping this band alive has become so much harder for all of us during the last two years due to changing life circumstances. It really came to the point where feelings of obligation seemed to surpass the fun this band was supposed to be for all of us.
That said, we as a band had several chats and discussions throughout the last weeks and came to the decision that it is better to lay Red Apollo to rest instead of continuing half-heartedly.
We’re currently working on a couple shows that will happen in January 2019 before we play our very last one at the Emosaal in Essen on the 25th of the same month. Thank you for all the support during the last years and make sure to catch us at one of our last shows! We’d be more than happy to see some familar faces!”

Qualcuno di voi avrà notato che c’è stato un po’ di silenzio attorno a noi negli ultimi mesi. Suonare circa 150 show e pubblicare costantemente musica negli ultimi sette anni è stato incredibilmente appagante e divertente per tutti noi. Tuttavia non si può negare che una band di questo tipo richieda molti stress e sacrifici, che comunque siamo stati sempre felici di fare.
In ogni caso, dopo la release di The Laurels Of Serenity e le date successive abbiamo realizzato di sentirci tutti decisamente logorati da questo processo. Tenere in vita questa band è diventato molto più difficile per noi negli ultimi due anni a causa di alcuni cambiamenti nelle nostre vite. Siamo arrivati al punto in cui la sensazione di essere sottoposti a un obbligo sembra aver superato il divertimento che questa band dovrebbe rappresentare per tutti noi.
Detto ciò, abbiamo avuto diverse discussioni interne alla band nelle ultime settimane e siamo giunti alla decisione che è meglio dare l’addio ai Red Apollo, piuttosto che continuare senza grande entusiasmo.
Al momento stiamo lavorando su un paio di show che si terranno a gennaio 2019 prima di suonare l’ultimo all’Emosaal di Essen il 25 dello stesso mese. Grazie a tutti per il supporto negli ultimi anni e fate in modo di non perdervi uno dei nostri ultimi show! Saremmo più che contenti di vedere dei visi familiari!”
