Peter Wolff, che ha già girato il mondo da membro fondatore dei Downfall Of Gaia, pubblica oggi 23 febbraio 2018 il proprio album solista d’esordio Repeat, per i tipi di My Proud Mountain. L’album è già stato presentato live di recente durante quattro show di supporto al tour europeo di Scott Kelly (voce e chitarra dei Neurosis) e John Judkins (Rwake).
Repeat è stato registrato dallo stesso polistrumentista tedesco e prodotto, mixato e masterizzato insieme a Timo Neuscheler al Chaos Compressor Club di Amburgo. L’album, un lavoro personale servito per elaborare una grave perdita, fonde sound desing e musica cinematica prodotta elettronicamente, sperimentando anche strumenti classici come piano e archi, fino a combinarsi con la musica guitar-oriented. “Repeat è un disco molto emozionale e personale per me. Ho iniziato a scriverlo il giorno in cui è morto un caro amico e dopo un anno esatto mi sono fermato nel punto in cui ero arrivato. Questo disco descrive un anno di lotte contro una perdita, l’errare attorno a dolore, abisso e consolazione e finisce con l’intuizione profonda che questo si ripeterà ancora e ancora, senza mai finire.”

Peter Wolff, who as a founding member of the band Downfall of Gaia has already toured the world, will release his debut solo album Repeat on February 23, 2018 on My Proud Mountain. Repeat concentrates on compositions of electronically produced spherical, cinematic music and sound design, experimented with classical instruments such as piano, strings and orchestra. He combines all this with his roots in guitar-oriented music.
Repeat is a very personal work and served for one year to process a heavy loss. Repeat is the soundtrack to the constantly rotating spiral of emotionally destructive events, without digressing into miserable realms. A constant rut that moves slowly and steadily and destroys a glimmer of hope with all its strength.
“Repeat is a really personal and emotional record for me. I started with songwriting on the dying day of a close friend and after exact one year I stopped on the point where I was. This record describes one year of coping with bereavement, the wander around grief, abyss and solace and ends with the insight that this will repeat again and again and will never end.”
