I melodic death/doom metallers svedesi In Mourning hanno annunciato che il nuovo album, dal titolo Afterglow, uscirà il 20 maggio per Agonia Records. Così la band ha commentato la nuova fatica:
“The new album is called Afterglow and its story takes off from where The Weight Of Oceans ends. It’s a bit more complex than our previous albums and it has got a bit of a different sound than the older ones, a bit more alive like a band and maybe not always as studio corrected as our earlier material. However, the foundation of the music is still what we’ve always done and the key elements are pretty much the same but with some new additions and a few new twists and turns of course”.
Afterglow, il primo album della band con Daniel Liljekvist (ex-Katatonia) dietro le pelli, è stato registrato tra novembre 2015 e marzo 2016 presso i Nordin Music Studios (batteria) e i Libra Studios (chitarra, basso e voce). Di missaggio e mastering si è occupato Jonas Martinsson del Necrosavant Studio.
Il disco sarà distribuito in formato digipak, jewel case e vinile oltre che in digitale, ed è già possibile effettuare il pre-order. Di seguito tracklist e artwork, realizzato da Kristian Wåhlin (Bathory, Tiamat, Amorphis, Dark Tranquillity).
