I maestri del gothic/doom metal svedese Katatonia hanno annunciato che il prossimo album, dal titolo The Fall Of Hearts, uscirà il 20 maggio per Peaceville Records. Così la band ha commentato il nuovo lavoro:
“This album is probably everything we unknowingly ever dreamed of to release. It’s a bleak but adventurous journey through our elements, we haven’t held back, we have pushed to get forward and backward in the ever spiralling night of our musical legacy.”
Il successore di Dethroned & Uncrowned (2013) è stato registrato agli studi Gröndahl e Tri-lamb di Stoccolma, ed è stato autoprodotto da Anders Nyström e Jonas Renkse. Di missaggio e mastering si è occupato Jens Bogren (Opeth, Ihsahn, Devin Townsend) ai Fascination Street Studios, con Karl Daniel Lidén (Switchblade, The Ocean, Greenleaf) nel ruolo di ingegnere del suono.
Si tratterà del primo album della band con i nuovi acquisti Daniel ’Mojjo’ Moilanen e Roger Öjersson (Tiamat), rispettivamente batterista e chitarrista. L’artwork sarà realizzato da Travis Smith, collaboratore di lunga data del combo svedese.
